The Wharton Esherick Museum is a non-profit historic institution open to individual and group visits by appointment only. One-hour guided tours take place from March through December. The facility hosts a steady stream of groups -- particularly students of architecture and the arts -- and group tours can be scheduled for either weekdays or weekends.
The mountaintop museum complex is located a short distance from the southwest boundary of Valley Forge National Historic Park off Exit 24 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The Schuylkill Expressway directly connects Turnpike Exit 24 to downtown Philadelphia about 25 miles to the east. The King of Prussia area adjacent to Valley Forge is densely developed with motels, convention centers, restaurants, and shopping facilities.
