The Vinton Historical Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit  organization whose mission is to preserve and document the history of Vinton and surrounding areas. The Historical Society sponsors projects each year to raise funds for the operation of the museum.  All donations of funding, artifacts, and in-kind support are tax deductible.  Another key element is our members. The members are the backbone of the historical society, without which there would be no museum.

The society meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, 7 times a year. Our monthly meetings are held in March, April, May, September, October, November and December. Locations vary between the Vinton War Memorial and the Museum. Members enjoy informative programs, outings, and the fellowship of history-lovers.

Membership dues are $15.00 per year, due on June 1st, or a lifetime membership of $150.00 each.  Annual Patron Memberships are available for any person, business or groups interested in supporting the Museum with a tax deductible contribution.

Our members operate the Vinton Museum and we always need volunteers who want to work towards the preservation of our irreplaceable past.
