The Torrey Gallery offers both historical and contemporary Navajo rugs. The weavers' skill and artistry, the connection of the rugs to the landscape, and Torrey's proximity to Navajoland grant the rugs a prominent place in the gallery.
The selection has been carefully chosen for quality and value, and reflects our thirty years of experience in collecting Navajo rugs.
All styles, with their distinctive patterns and colors such as Burntwater, Chinle, Crystal, Ganado Red, Klagetoh, Storm Pattern, Teec Nos Pos, Two Grey Hills, Wide Ruins, and General Reservation are featured. Sizes range from small wall hangings to large floor rugs.
"The earth and sky, the light of day and the dark of night, the mesas and the canyons together with all they represent, have found their way into the warp and weft as securely as has the yarn."
