91,000 SQ. FT. ICE ARENA

Our NEW, state-of-the-art, 91,000 sq. ft. ice arena, located at 838 Grove Street (1 block north of SPHS) is owned and operated by Sun Prairie Ice, Inc. (SP-Ice, Inc.). Even though the doors to the new facility will open on January 17, 2014 we still have a lot of fund-raising goals to reach. See below for details about our continuing Capital Campaign.

With considerable assistance from the Sun Prairie Youth Hockey Association, several area businesses, and dedication from many hockey & skating enthusiasts; the Sun Prairie Ice Arena (aka: SP-Ice, Inc.) opened a new state-of-the-art, two (2), ice sheet facility on January 17, 2014..

Facility Features

Two (2), NHL-sized rink surfaces, boards, glass and protective netting
Large, double-entrance, all-glass lobby
Seating capacities:
Cardinal Rink: 1,100 spectators
Tom & Rita Tubbs Rink: 600 spectators
Plus mezzanine seating, unique standing room viewing platforms and ice-level viewing in both rinks
Multiple concession stands (operated by SPYHA)
Future, on-site restaurant space (tenant working on details)
Pro skate shop space (no tenant yet - contact us for details)
Comfortable meeting rooms (available to schedule)
Birthday party rooms (available to rent)
Family lounge (near seating area)
Sun Prairie boys and girls varsity locker rooms
One (1), leased locker room (Rage Women's Hockey)
Dedicated figure skating locker room
Twelve (12), other locker rooms (assigned as needed)
Open-air locker room for Open Skate and other on-ice events

Dry-floor event capacity (no ice, concrete floor expo space)

Recreational Opportunities

The ice arena will provide year-round community recreation for skaters of all ages and varied interests including (but not limited to): hockey players, figure skaters, speed skaters (TBD) and recreational skaters.
