About Us

Schisler Museum of Wildlife & Natural History

The Schisler Museum features habitat recreations that display and interpret more than 140 wildlife specimens from around the world. These specimens represent species from Africa and North America, including most species of North American deer and ducks, and a display of insects from around the world.

The museum was named after Arthur ’62 and Fannie Greene ’62 Schisler, alumni of East Stroudsburg University, who donated most of the mounts on display. It opened to the public on April 2, 2016.

McMunn Planetarium

The McMunn Planetarium features a SPITZ digital projection system for commercial films and custom star shows. The planetarium also serves as a classroom for East Stroudsburg University.

The planetarium opened to the public in 2008 and was named in honor of East Stroudsburg University alumni supporters Charles A. “Tony” ’69 and Patricia Lythgoe ’68 McMunn.

The Schisler Museum & McMunn Planetarium are located on the ground floor of the Warren E. ’55 and Sandra Hoeffner Science and Technology Center at East Stroudsburg University, a Member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
