The Madison Art Club is one of the oldest continuous operating art clubs in the state of Indiana. Since 1949 artists and individuals with an interest in the arts have joined together in what is known as the Madison Art Club.
The founding members, as well as the membership today, will tell you that the beauty of Madison and the surrounding area have long been a source of inspiration for their work. This serene beauty is most certainly one of the primary reasons so many talented artists from all parts of the country have chosen to make Madison their home in recent years.
Madison is rich in history and architecture and is a nationally recognized historical site. These qualities combined with small town charm and hoosier hospitality is why Madison has become a magnet for tourists in recent years. The club has also found that these tourists are not your usually tourists, because along with being interrested in architecture and history many have art backgrounds and have long been interrested in the fine arts as well. So the Art Club with the help of funding from the community and the art programs within the state is determined to make Madison a prime location for fine art in Indiana.
