In 1994 we opened International Poster Gallery on Newbury Street in Boston. As a collector and private dealer, I wanted to share my passion for one of the most important art forms of the twentieth century with a broader audience. With the inception of this website in late 1997, our reach became truly global.
The Gallery's name reflects a love of posters from all countries. Whereas most galleries are dominated by French posters, our walls reveal a strong specialization outside of France as well. Through our exhibitions (more than 40 in fifteen years!), lectures and inventory selection I believe our Gallery has played an important role in the worldwide market acceptance particularly of fine Italian posters, Swiss posters, Dutch posters and Russian posters.
Like many of our clients, my interest in posters began while decorating home and office. To my surprise I found that hardly anyone was collecting Italian posters, despite their obvious beauty. I spent many years tracking down these great posters and today International Poster Gallery holds perhaps the largest collection of Italian poster masterpieces for sale in the world.
We are a multiple winner of Boston Magazine's prestigious Best of Boston award and are included in Top Ten Boston Travel Guide. Our website was the first vintage poster site to be recognized as a Yahoo! Pick of the Day and has won more than 100 awards for its rich content and extensive inventory, now numbering more than 5,000 in-stock items.
