About Us:
INSCAPES GALLERY of Living Spaces was originally established as the Wood Gallery in 1978 by Kelly Barker. Kelly featured his own creations as well as those by a number of other Central Oregon Coast artists. The gallery grew to become one of the largest and most memorable galleries on the entire Oregon coast, and it continues to honor a family of coastal, regional and national artists whose works encompass several art media.
In April, 2008, Julie Massinger and her partner, Cris Torp, purchased the gallery from Kelly and changed its name to INSCAPES GALLERY of Living Spaces. The INSCAPES space has undergone a major re-set and revitalization which have brought praise from long-time visitors and newcomers alike. The changes have allowed Julie and Cris to continue with the high quality of arts for which the gallery has become known.
INSCAPES features works by nearly 400 artists. Precision wood turnings, such as bowls, platters, vases and other vessels remain a principle feature at INSCAPES; but original oil paintings, bronze sculptures, steel wall hangings, photography, jewelry, dichroic and fused glass, games, kaleidoscopes and furniture remain staples of the gallery's "Fine Art--Fun Furnishings--Finishing Touches" place of wonder.
