ABOUT
The Town of Barnstable’s Hyannis Youth and Community Center (“HYCC”) is situated in the heart of Cape Cod’s commercial hub surrounded by hotels, restaurants, local attractions and more! The building is a short stroll (two blocks) away from popular restaurants, shops and attractions on Main Street. The Barnstable Municipal Airport, Hyannis Transportation Center and ferries to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket are also nearby.
The HYCC is a 105,000 sq. ft. full service community center that primarily services the youth of the Town of Barnstable which includes the school district’s athletic departments, after-school programs, hockey and figure skating competitive organizations and community groups, and the estimated 2,500 children whose families reside within a one-mile radius of the facility.
The Barnstable Recreation Division is committed to providing leisure opportunities to improve the quality of life in our community through exceptional programs and services. We strive to meet the recreational needs of our Residents by offering a variety of youth and adult programs. Our programs emphasize teamwork, instruction, the development of skills and healthy self regard.
The mission of the HYCC is to provide state-of-the-art accessible facilities for a variety of recreational programs and special events, competitive sports organizations, after school activities and opportunities for the community at large to foster educational excellence and physical growth across all generations.
Hyannis is the largest of the seven villages in Barnstable and is widely known as the commercial Hub of Cape Cod. Only a 90-minute drive from Boston, Newport, RI and Provincetown. The islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard are easily accessible by ferry boat or air shuttle service.
