Gallery 21
6th St. between Dolores & Lincoln St.
831-625-1738

Since 1991, Gallery 21 in Carmel has proudly exhibited the largest collection of Eyvind Earle’s artwork worldwide. In 2004, Gallery 21 relocated to a new space on 6th Avenue, between Dolores and Lincoln.

In the late 90‘s Eyvind Earle visited what is now our new location and admired the excellent layout, lighting and space. When it became available in 2004 there was no hesitation to relocate from the old address on Dolores. The new space and location of the gallery lends a fresh ambience to the exhibition and brings Earle’s colorful works to life.

Gallery 21 displays over 100 of Earle’s vibrant colorful images which celebrate life and nature. Through his paintings, watercolors, serigraphs, drawings, scratch-boards, books and videos we hope to share the beauty and vision that is so uniquely Eyvind Earle’s. Earle’s simplicity, color, style and detail in his artwork are traits that make his pieces intriguing and inspiring to his collectors. If you visit Carmel, please stop by Gallery 21 to experience the magical art of one the greatest artists of our time.

Why Carmel?… Having vacationed here as a child, Eyvind Earle had a fondness for the area through adulthood. In the late 1960‘s Earle had a series of one-man exhibitions at the Zantman Galleries and Galeria Americana, in Carmel. He eventually moved here with his second wife Joan in 1988. It was in this quaint art community of Carmel-by-the-Sea that Earle chose to settle down and call home for the remainder of his life. The unmistakable Carmel fog and rugged Big Sur coastline became the subjects for many of Earle’s later works.

In his passing there has been a great undeniable loss, but through his artwork  and on the walls of this gallery his legacy continues. We invite you to come experience this collection of timeless artwork.
