The museum is an old Victorian building and retains most of the old, historical windows, which are woefully energy inefficient. During the closing, these windows were replaced by new, double pane, energy efficient windows. Besides updating the look of the look of the museum, it will also result in a reduction of the museum energy bills.
During the winter museum closing, the 2nd floor display rooms are being updated. New carpeting will be installed as well as the walls repaired and painted. It's a major undertaking through a generous donation by a benefactor and the hard work of the museum curator and Moundsville Chapter members.
