About Us:
In late December 2015, a very generous contributor presented the following challenge to the Mount Horeb Area Historical Society: "Raise $300,000 for future operations by May 15, 2016 and I will provide the remaining funds necessary to construct the Driftless Historium campus." This challenge is the capstone to our tremendous community-backed success in fundraising to date, while simultaneously ensuring a solid foundation for future programming and other community services. It also provides a nearly three to one match for every dollar raised between January 1, 2016 and May 15, 2016.
Four decades of dedicated volunteers, donors and supporters have underwritten the Society's mission and economic stability creating a tradition of preservation and education. The region has benefitted from this tradition -from locals to tourists, to preschoolers and graduate students, to the descendants of early settlers and new locals researching the history of their homes.
