Scott and Mary Watson reside in Oatman, Arizona on historic Route 66 where they own an art gallery. Over the years, they have been recognized for their exceptional artwork with prestigious awards from many fine art shows. They have been featured artists in several publications, including Rock and Gem Magazine, April 1996 (see excerpts).
Scott is a Master Silversith who has been designing silverwork since 1971. He developed a unique style and technique of constructed silverwork that combines silver, copper, nickel and sometimes gold. Scott's 3-Dimensional Southwestern themes depict how ancient pottery may have been found in the desert with cactus, rocks, roots and weeds. His signature piece of a cracked pot is usually made from copper to contrast against his intricate silver designs.
In 1985 Scott made a small silver pot and showed it to Mary. She liked the tiny pot and said, "If you put a crack on the pot, you can be my 'crackpot'!" This simple jest started their signature "Crackpot" designs. This theme predominates their artwork, which includes one-of-a-kind jewelry, intricate knife art, oil paintings on flagstone, combinations of art on sculptured Arizona sandstone, and other mixed media art.
Mary, enthused by her husband's talents, soon discovered artistry in herself. She excels at a variety of artwork, specializing in creating polymer clay miniatures. Scott and Mary collaborate their remarkable talents to create 3-Dimensional sandstone scenes with their oil paintings, Scott's detailed metalwork and Mary's miniature storytellers.
