About the Gallery :

The Art: We represent contemporary fine art by established local and national artists working in mediums including painting, mixed media, sculpture, hand-crafted furniture, glass and jewelry.

The Culture: The Belushi Pisano Gallery is a subsidiary of the Second Chance Foundation, a non-profit organization which was founded in 1991 on the Island of Martha's Vineyard by the husband and wife team of Victor Pisano and Judith Belushi Pisano - both respected writers and producers. The Foundation's mission is not only to provide support to the Arts through grants, awards and scholarships, but to provide support to individuals undergoing difficult financial periods in their lives and to augment organizations that provide services and sustenance to the Vineyard community. The initial funding for the Foundation was generated by an auction of items from Judith Belushi Pisano's collection of John Belushi memorabilia. The fund was later substantially added to by the Pisano's directly.

Now, the Second Chance Foundation is in a new and exciting transition. Our mission of serving the community remains steadfast, however, we are taking on a much more active role in the Arts, and ultimately in the community through our presence in the Town of Vineyard Haven as an art gallery where our net profits will be new revenues for our "Awards and Grants" program. The Belushi Pisano Gallery was founded in September 2005 by Jessica Pisano, Victor and Judith's daughter, with the concept of creating a non-profit enterprise.

The gallery structure is simple: the artists receive the customary percent of sales but the "bp gallery" percent of sales is rolled back into the Foundation and then back into the community. In one respect, gifted and established artists are helping to regenerate the Arts and increase the ranks of the inspired while also serving the community through the sales of their work.
