Bear Lake State Park

940 North Bear Lake Boulevard
435-946-3343

Brilliantly blue waters combined with sandy beaches are what call park visitors to play, fish, boat, and camp here at Bear Lake State Park. Minerals (calcium carbonate) suspended in the lake's waters are what help create its spectacular aqua-blue color.

The Park's concession operator, Bear Lake Fun Time, offers a variety of goods and services. So, whether it's boat rentals, comfortable cabins, fast-food services, or on-the-water fuel at the marina, we can help complete your vacation to here at Bear Lake.

Bear Lake State Park - Rendezvous Beach is named for the famous rendezvous of fur trappers and Indians held in the summers of 1827 and 1828. A thousand or more Native Americans and mountain men - including Jedediah Smith - attended the gatherings. There were so many campfires at the south end of the lake at these trading sessions that one observer called the area "a lighted city."

Cold water. North beach is great...and really the only one that's not rocky. I think it was $6 per car entry for a day pass. Jet ski rentals at bear lake rentals was a blast. Short summer visit season, but worth it. Beautiful lake. Good raspberry shakes. They've built their culture on their raspberries, and shops do a good job with a variety of uses for the berry. Not much real shopping, but you can get by.

Bear Lake is fantastic and deserves 5 stars. This park, however, is totally going down the tubes. In previous years it’s been fairly well maintained. Recently the bathrooms have been poorly kept and the sites are often left dirty with trash and litter everywhere. Also several of the sites are surrounded by trees with large dead limbs. I recently witnessed one such limb fall on two cars parked in adjoining sites. One car was almost completely crushed. Don’t tent camp at this park unless you are hoping to be killed by falling tree limbs. Overall there are beautiful views and the access to the lake is excellent, but there are cleaner, safer, better equipped camp grounds nearby.

People at the gate were nice and the site itself was fine but the bath house and toilets were disgusting. Urinal overflowed every flush and left a pool of pee in the corner of the bathroom. If they cleaned the beach and bath house better it would be 4 star. Also very far from a grocery store so stock up before you come. Local store is small and over priced. The highlight is the restaurant s nearby.

Great place to go camping. They have 103 50 and 30 amp full hook up sites and 21 tent sites. All sites can be reserved on Reserve America.
