About Us :
We are very excited to have relocated our gallery from the suburbs to our beautiful Capitol City. The new location was home to the former Democratic Headquarters for fifty years and prior to that, a private home. During the period of getting this old structure to a new life, we found a building full of mystery. Beautiful wooden architectural features were revealed and a fireplace uncovered. According to the Harrisburg Architectural Review Board, "This three-story masonry, semi-attached structure of mixed architectural style was constructed circa 1885, …and has many character-defining features.
The top two floors are rented to two area businesses, while the gallery is located on the first and lower level. Also on the lower level is The Custom Frame Shoppe, providing a full -service frame shop.
"It is our goal to create an atmosphere that goes beyond the art on the walls. We want to welcome visitors and clients to a destination rather than just a gallery, so expect many unique events to entice the public both during the day and after-work hours," in the words of Susan Schreckengaust.
