History:
Artisans was founded in Mill Valley in 1977, as a non-profit educational arts organization. It is one of Northern California's oldest and most innovative art organizations. Artisans Art Gallery moved to San Rafael in 2006, and was voted Pacific Sun's Best Art Gallery in Marin for 2006 and 2007. The Gallery closed its doors in the recession of 2008, and members now exhibit in numerous local venues and special exhibits. This creative adaptation has allowed the organization to thrive in the art-friendly community of Marin County.
