Capturing Time: The Story of Early Photography, with a free public presentation by Master Photographer, Darrin Hill.

Darrin will discuss the story behind his amazing collection of over 500 antique cameras and camera equipment, trace the development of photography, reveal how early cameras worked, and share interesting and entertaining anecdotes from his decades-long fascination with photography. Following his talk, guests are invited to an opening reception featuring wine, appetizers, and gallery viewing.

This fascinating exhibit showcases rare and beautiful vintage cameras, photographic equipment, and printed materials from Darrin's collection, as well as photographs, dark room materials, and more, ca. 1850-1950. Explore the science and history of photography, while enjoying this exclusive display.

Darrin is a Master Photographer (a lifetime achievement he reached in only three years), a certified professional photographer with over 23 years of practice, and a photographic craftsman. He graduated in 1992 from Texas A&M University and holds a degree in photojournalism. He also holds a degree in photography from Sam Houston State University. He has won international competitions, was voted photographer of the year by the Houston Professional Photographic Guild (the largest professional portrait photography organization in the United States), and was the youngest person in Texas to achieve the Master Photographer designation. Raised in Bryan/College Station, Darrin and his wife, Rebecca, are the proud parents of twin girls.
