Walker Fine Art welcomes you into a realm of connection, tranquility, and transformation in our upcoming exhibition, ASCENSION. Through ethereal installations, surreal landscapes, and celestial skyscapes, five artists invite us to pause from the busyness of life and reflect on moments of serenity and unity. Detaching from the everyday and experiencing the transcendence of art allows boundaries to blur and invites a sense of shared humanity.

Featuring:

ELAINE COOMBS seeks to conjure an uplifting emotional space in her ethereal paintings of the sky.  Mesmerized by cloud patterns and the colors found at golden hour, she uses softly reflective metallic backgrounds which provide a soothing visual respite to her rhythmic palette knife marks, meticulously applied.

As a multi-faceted artist, BRYAN LEISTER navigates the intersection of technology and creativity, using AI as a tool to push the boundaries of artistic expression. His recent series engages in a dynamic dialogue between the precision of automation and the nuances of human touch, highlighting the tension between control, chance, and craftsmanship.

Entranced by the idea of hopeful tranquility, LAURA GUESE’s luminescent cloud paintings invite the viewer to step away from our hectic, fast-paced world and search for simple moments of peace. Perspectives cast from higher atmospheric layers, her surreal clouds offer moments of soft and rich hues of dawn and dusk.

In this Biophilia series, JULIE MAREN transforms acorn tops into glowing, galactic worlds, representing the synergy and potential of interconnected communities, with nature and humankind merging in celestial harmony.

In her hanging glass installation, GAIL FOLWELL invites the viewer into an immersive space that intimately connects and celebrates the diverse members of our breathtakingly varied planet. Folwell’s Project XOX aims to reflect the beauty we see in one another, transcending racial, religious, cultural, political, and sexual divides.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, 5-8 pm at the gallery in the Prado building on 11th & Cherokee Streets in Denver’s Golden Triangle Museum District. The reception is free and open to the public, and the artists will be in attendance.
